Ecolab Ready for Winter

On Saturday, November 2nd, the Ecolab received attention from the Berger, Heitkamp, Kodas, Plush, Randolph, Salyer, Shroyer, and Spears families. Lower elementary teacher Noreen Sullivan volunteered to arrange and help with the work. While adults and older children did most of the heavy lifting, the younger students searched the woods for lost playground balls and assisted with a number of outdoor tasks.

The main focus of the morning was to mulch the Ecolab, which is located on the hillside below the preschool and lower elementary playground. A favorite outdoor area to explore during recess, the annual clean up ensured that the Ecolab is child-friendly and well maintained. As Noreen shared, “It was a joy to work with all these folks, and many hands did make light work – and a beautiful, natural place for children to enjoy this winter.”
