Sister City Art Show To Feature 37 Mercy Artists!
Thirty seven of our second through sixth level students will have artwork showing in a special Sister Cities art exhibit that will take place in Cincinnati and in Kharkiv, Ukraine. All are invited to this fun holiday art show. In addition, the Ukrainian Artist will be working with our Upper El students at school on December 10!
Details About The Show:
The International Student Art Show opens on Friday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m in the Kennedy Heights Arts Annex (the old Kroger building at the corner of Montgomery and Kennedy Aves. in Kennedy Heights). This is part of the Pleasant Ridge – Kennedy Heights Winterfest Celebration. There will be food and music.
The “opening speech” will start at about 7:15. It will include mention of the participating schools and art teachers.
The art work will be shipped to Kharkiv after Christmas for display in January. Following the end of that exhibit, American students’ art work will be returned to the USA.
The Kharkiv curator is planning on putting together a catalogue for the show; that should be available December 7th at the opening.
The art exhibit is sponsored / was organized by the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Partnership (CKSCP) established in 1989 to foster friendship between the citizens of Cincinnati and Kharkiv (then part of the Soviet Union).
